The Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA) is for adults, "who, after hearing the mystery of Christ proclaimed, consciously and freely seek the living God and enter the way of faith and conversion as the Holy Spirit opens their hearts...and at the proper time will receive the sacraments fruitfully." If you want to be fully initiated into the Catholic faith (i.e. receive the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Eucharist) the RCIA program will prepare you to do just that.

Once you have made this decision and have informed Fr. Jim, the process starts with you joining our once a month faith formation group. Formal training begins in November, with twice monthly sessions to learn the fundamentals of the Catholic faith. During Lent, teaching continues on a weekly basis, focusing on the Sacraments of Initiation, and culminating with the reception of the Sacraments at the Easter Vigil Mass. But RCIA doesn't end there - follow-on teaching continues weekly from Easter until Pentecost Sunday.

An important part of the RCIA process includes the monthly faith formation sessions for men and women. For men, the Men of St. Joseph meet monthly on the first Monday at 7 pm and for women, Come...and See meets monthly on the second Saturday at 9 am.

If you are interested in becoming fully initiated into the Catholic faith, please contact Fr. Jim ([email protected]).
